SAAPE condemns the terrorist attack in Marriott Hotel, Islamabad, Pakistan

23 September 2008

South Asia Alliance for Poverty Eradication (SAAPE) condemns the abhorrent terrorist attack at the Marriott Hotel in the capital Islamabad of Pakistan that left at least 60 dead and more than 200 innocents injured in the cowardly blast. This latest bombing in Islamabad is yet another shocking and disgraceful attack without justification. Such an indiscriminate and brutal act of terror must be condemned by the entire international community.

SAAPE underlines the need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism under justice. SAAPE would also like to express its deep condolence to the bereaved families and the victims who have suffered as a result of this atrocity and also extends its continued support and solidarity to fight against the actors and factors of terrorism and imperialism.

In solidarity,

SAAPE Secretariat
